What it does

Link Commits To Tickets
Without Changing How You Work

Your team already writes ticket keys in commit messages. NoaBox does the rest.

Mention The Key, Get The Link

Write the work-item key anywhere in a commit message, like “NBX-218 retry token refresh”, and push. A signed webhook from GitHub links the commit to the ticket, from any branch, and records the branch it came from.

  • Works on every branch
  • Keys like NBX-218: 2 to 10 letters or digits, a hyphen, a number
  • Duplicates are never created

Every Commit, On The Ticket

Each work item gets a Commits tab, grouped by repository, with the first line of the message, a link to the commit, the author and their avatar, the branch and the time. Reviewers and PMs can see the code behind the work without leaving NoaBox.

  • Grouped by repository
  • Links to the commit and the branch
  • Author, avatar and time

@Alex can we ship the hashing first? QA is waiting on it.

Workspace-Wide Or Per Project

Install for the whole workspace to match keys across every project, or for one project to match only its tickets. You choose the repositories on GitHub's own install page, and Sync now re-reads them whenever you like.

  • Workspace or project install
  • Repositories chosen on GitHub
  • Sync now on demand

GitHub is on Starter, Pro and Enterprise.

Set up

Connected
In A Couple Of Minutes

A workspace admin sets it up once; everyone's commits link from then on.

  1. 1

    Install the GitHub App

From the workspace or project settings, install the NoaBox GitHub App and pick the repositories on GitHub.

  2. 2

    Backfill runs

NoaBox scans the last 100 commits on each repository's default branch and links any that mention a key.

  3. 3

    Mention keys as you commit

Put the work-item key in the commit message. The commit appears on the ticket's Commits tab.

The Details
Worth Knowing

Signed webhooks

Every push from GitHub is verified with an HMAC signature before it's processed.

No stored tokens

Installation tokens are short-lived and never stored.

Backfill on every sync

Connecting and Sync now both re-scan the last 100 commits of each default branch, without duplicates.

Commits only, for now

Pull requests, branch creation and deploy tracking aren't part of the integration yet.

FAQ

Questions, answered

  • Include the work-item key in the commit message, for example “NBX-218 retry token refresh”, and push. The commit appears on that ticket's Commits tab, from any branch.

  • Not yet. NoaBox links commits only; pull-request status, branch creation and deployments aren't tracked today.

  • When you connect, and every time you press Sync now, NoaBox scans the last 100 commits on each repository's default branch and links any that mention a key.

  • Starter, Pro and Enterprise. A workspace admin installs the GitHub App, for the whole workspace or a single project.
